We're Bringing Speed Dating
to Business and Government
We're putting an unconventional twist on business and government events in Victoria with the introduction of a CEO and Business Therapy Consult-a-Thon on June 28. This fresh idea has experts in communications, public relations and executive management giving away free, one-on-one, accelerated consulting sessions to local business and government people.
“The new social golden rule is to give away your insights and knowledge without expectation; it’s similar to downloading a whitepaper or case study online,” said Christine Wood, Director of Innovation. “Our consult-a-thon promotes the free flow of information and ideas, turning the traditional consulting model on its head.”
Interested participants must register online via Eventbrite for one of only 18 allotted spaces. Each 45 minute session will be customized to fit unique business or organizational needs and features topics, such as:
-
The Endless Scream: Don’t panic, prepare. Most crises can be predicted. Being prepared includes paying attention, being a good listener and understanding the issues cycle.
-
Plan, what Plan? : Just because you have a plan, doesn't mean people will follow it. Measure your strategic IQ and discover the 10 sins of strategic planning.
-
The Public as Government Partner: How to bring together the right people, social technologies and strategic approach to create new opportunities for citizen engagement, policy development and service delivery.
This one-day only consult-a-thon begins at 8 a.m. in downtown Victoria, with nine back-to-back sessions running through to 5 p.m. Other topics to explore include government and media relations, communications planning, social media advocacy and organizational change. Our strategic partners and associates will review individual scenarios and provide free confidential advice.
“Our team has some pretty impressive credentials with deep experience in the private, public and non-profit sectors and are passionate about what they do,” said Rena Kendall, Director of Strategy. “This consult-a-thon mirrors how we approach working with clients; when you’re authentic and enjoy what you’re doing, people will want to work with you.”
