If you haven’t radically changed the way you’re doing tourism PR in the last three years, then you’re probably doing it wrong.
We’ve worked on the tourism portfolio doing compelling and aggressive campaigns for over a decade with some of the best in the industry. And what we have learned in the last couple of years about consumer involvement has completely changed the way we see things.

We had an epiphany
Most businessess angst over revenue, clients and costs. It's the nasty behind the curtains stuff that we don't want anyone else to see. How do we make money and be competitive? We demonstrate our big thinking and we get cost sensitive.

Our day began at an ungodly hour.
When we booked our flight over the summer, a six a.m. departure seemed reasonable. We’d forgotten to factor in the change in seasons. Getting out the door for four a.m. to ensure adequate time for check-in and all the fun that accompanies modern travel proved an exercise in military precision.
We had to clear airport security twice: once in Victoria (YYJ) And again in San Francisco (SFO).
Travelling in the fall, cross-country, means more clothing, more accessories and complicated footwear.
I was in heaven. Well, for a while at least.
For three days I got to act like a 21st century teenager. I tweeted until my fingers were sore. I posted on Facebook in the middle of class. I checked my email incessantly....
